Bio

I'm a truck driver. It sounds funny to say that since I really wanted to be one when I was a kid. The truth is that I move missiles around a navy weapons facility. I assuage my guilt of being on the government payroll by the fact that it's defense and not HUD or some other useless federal entity. I joined Ricochet mostly because it feels like a trip to Hollywood with all the stars out walking the streets to be able to converse with the likes of Peter Robinson, John Woo, Rob Long, Victor Hanson, and others. I recently finished my degree in political science at American Military University and hope to find some use for it eventually. If you would like to contact me directly email kingprawn at centurytel.net.

I've recently started blogging about spiritual things.

Dave Carter: I'm celebrating a day early, by spending the evening with as many of you as can be at our meet up in Seattle! · 9 hours ago

Same!

Speaking of memory, the wife and I came up with a video last night that would be perfect for DocJay's video topic, but I'll be baked if either of us can remember what it is today.

BrentB67: Fascinating that two days ago I wrote a post that has garnered all of 18 comments and it is somehow on the Most Popular list, but thise one still active at 36 comment isn't.

Do the over lords of Ricochet have something to hide? Who knew what when? · 6 hours ago

Did you check the behind the paywall button? If so, it probably prevents it from showing up on the front page as that is viewable by the general public.

I prefer Walk Off The Earth's cover.

I'm positive Petraeus's scandal could have been papered over but wasn't because the administration does not trust him. He was, after all, a very successful and popular military officer and not a member of the Chicago gang. His scandal was made public to discredit him before he could tell the truth about Benghazi.

Rachel Lu: Do you have a good memory?

ἀλήθεια. · 2 minutes ago

Thanks to all of 15-20 minutes I spent studying Koine Greek I actually understand that.

To answer the question, I think it depends. I memorized the first 3 chapters of Gatatians with relative ease, I can spit out the list of being verbs, I could probably write out all the pronouns, I can tell you my first phone number, my deceased grand parents' phone number, my, my wife's, and my ex-wife's SSNs, health insurance policy number, all my bank account numbers, I can quote verbatim the definitions of deadly force, two person concept, two person control, access, technical knowledge, and the four nuclear weapons safety standards (all required when I was in the navy), but I can't tell you what I was about to use the blank browser tab for.

The word terrorism is being stretched too thin. As one character said in a movie, like butter spread over too much toast. I think it's about time to include violence done by Islamists into our understanding of Islamism. It is no longer generic enough to fall just into the more broad concept of terrorism. On our end, it clarifies what we are fighting against.

Jimmy Carter: Trial's over. What does the lawyer gain by doing the interview? · 25 minutes ago

TV time.

On second thought, she really missed a question. The lawyer explained that the basic defense was that the babies were not born alive because they were given a drug that would cause "in utero fetal demise." If so, then why stick scissors in their necks and cut their spinal chords when they were ex utero if they were already dead?

For anyone in foreign services it should not be that hard. Simply find them untrustworthy based on performance then pull their security clearances. Take away a prerequisite to the position and eliminate the employee. It's how DoD does it because actually firing an employee is impossible. Making an employee ineligible for the position is rather easy for any position requiring a security clearance.

I would get worked up about it because it's annoying, but Ricochet is worth a little annoyance. I pick the tomatoes off my burgers, so closing a pop-up or two doesn't seem that onerous to me. I'll put up with a lot to be able to read what BrentB67 has to write.

HeartofAmerica: Funny, you should post this today as I was thinking about a device that would allow you to send a message directly to the offending car/driver that could tell them politely about their screw-up. I'm all about education.  · 0 minutes ago

George Carlin recommended a programable sign on top of one's car...his ideas for what to put on it were not CoC compliant.

For just plain fun and a video that has absolutely nothing to do with the song, Zac Brown's The Wind which was nothing to do with the song so far as I can tell.

Exactly what diplomats were killed under Bush?

Your stop over at freak day was just prepping you for Seattle.

For me it's all about the music. I'll try to dig up some clever videos though. I think Lindsey Stirling is accomplishing that with her stuff right now.
