Come See the Ricochet Roadshow
One of the innumerable pleasures of Ricochet is the fact that our members -- their appetite for civil, witty conservative banter whetted by the site -- can't limit the conversation to the interwebs. Accordingly, they periodically organize meetups where members -- and oftentimes contributors -- get to break bread and continue the discussion in person.
These fading days of summer have yielded a bumper crop of these events across the country and this is your chance to join in on the fun. Our own Mollie Hemingway will be headlining a Colorado meetup on August 18 and I'm hoping to be part of a similar meetup in Miami that same weekend. Meanwhile, members also have soirees scheduled for Atlanta (also August 18) and Seattle (August 25). Plus, events in St. Louis; Raleigh-Durham; Columbus, Ohio; and Tampa are all in the planning stages.
Here's all you need to know. If you're a member, visit the links above and indicate in the comments that you're interested in attending (and if there's not a meetup near you ... go ahead and plan one.). If you're not a member, sign up today to access these gatherings. Our cover charge is nothing more than our $3.67 a month membership fee ($30 for the year) -- which also gets you access to benefits like the Member Feed, our six premium podcast series, live chats, and direct messaging with members and contributors. And let's be honest ... we're the only party that cheap where someone isn't going to end up in the emergency room.
We hope to see you at a member meetup soon.

Re: Come See the Ricochet Roadshow
Barbara, do it over Christmas and I'll attend. My family will be on the Big Island, not sure where you are but if I can get a ticket I'll hop over.

For those Canadians in B.C. the Seattleish meetup is in Lynden. It's closer for you than me, and I'm going!
Re: Come See the Ricochet Roadshow
Which island are you on, Barbara? So undiluted is my devotion to Ricochet that I could certainly envision planning something for Hawaii in the future.

Fantastic, I've had two meet ups here in Tokyo!
Troy, don't forget the Audio Meet Ups!

Re: Come See the Ricochet Roadshow
Evidently all the Twin Cities Ricochetians are anti-social because there's never been a meet-up here nor are there any planned. Me? I"m not anti-social, just lazy. If someone else plans one I'll be happy to show up.
I don't think the ice will break until Lileks gets involved. James?

Re: Come See the Ricochet Roadshow
Why is the "Seattlish" meetup is not at the Flagship Starbucks, located south of downtown Seattle, to enjoy a $3.67 cup of coffee?

Re: Come See the Ricochet Roadshow
I'm having a mini meet up with Aaron Miller tomorrow. I've also had a mini meet up with Mike LaRoche and Lance. Although, there is a dispute over whether or not Lance and I actually had a meet up since it was so brief. I'm still calling it a meet up.

Free Radical: the last one was there. I'd search for the photo but I'm too lazy. The answer to your question, though is two fold. First, you can't get into that joint to get a cuppasum, because no one is boycotting them. Second, they don't have a billiards table, though I do.

I had one at my place. Only I attended. It was a very agreeable meeting and was over quickly after downing several single malts. We'll have to do it again, next week.
