Being a guy, I'm hardly qualified to comment, but the Jackson/Van Buren ticket was right up there.  The president killed a man in a duel, and the VP had the bald head/big burns combo.

This is easy to dismiss as frivolous and tertiary, but I long ago noticed that, since the predominance of television, the more objectively handsome and vital candidate has won the Presidency. Outlier being 1976.

You know the national debt is 15,963,965,205,188 dollars, right?

That's $51k per citizen.

That's $140k per tax payer.

All jesting aside, it might be the single most important factor in the race.

Now that somebody points it out, it's obvious. It takes a humorous touch to slip past the blinders sometimes. "The slow blade penetrates the shield." (Oops, wrong post.)

Indeed, I seem to recall that even in the 60's many people believed optics were a reason for Kennedy's victory after the first ever televised prediential debate.

Scares and focuses my attention.

Then again, I have never been classified as a casual, or swing vote.

Be thankful - casual swingers are a key Obama demographic.

I mean, if we're voting based on this, I think GJ wins, right?

He does if we're electing the guy with the best farmer's tan.
